Irene Drever Covers 150 km in Aid of Motor Neurone Disease Research
The motion
That the Parliament commends Irene Drever for her incredible efforts in completing her Doddie Aid challenge in aid of research into motor neuron disease (MND); understands that Irene, from Orkney, originally set out to reach 100 km on her exercise bike by the end of the challenge but exceeded her own goal, clocking an incredible 150 km; recognises that Irene, who was diagnosed with MND in July 2020, has shown determination to contribute to, and fundraise in aid of, research and has not let the diagnoses get in her way; notes that Irene has been widely recognised in her community for her positive, can-do attitude and her incredible efforts to raise awareness of MND and contribute to research and clinical trials; congratulates Irene on this significant achievement; thanks her for her continued commitment to raising awareness of MND and contributing to research, and wishes her all the very best going forward.
