10th Anniversary of New College Lanarkshire

The motion

That the Parliament celebrates the 10th anniversary of New College Lanarkshire (NCL); understands that, while its origins can be traced back to 1865, NCL was established in 2013 with a core purpose to “Bring Education Closer” to the people of Lanarkshire, and beyond; further understands that NCL has taught over 85,000 students and delivered over 57,000 qualifications, spanning six campuses located around North Lanarkshire and surrounding areas; notes that, to celebrate its anniversary, NCL is offering Lanarkshire residents over 100 free courses in March and April 2023, ranging from Criminology to Barbering to Accounting, and that the college is hosting several open days to showcase the variety of specialist courses available; considers that, with its innovative and accessible approach, NCL has become a pillar of the Lanarkshire community and has driven positive change by helping thousands of people learn new skills, develop their passions and advance their careers; commends the work of the staff and students of NCL, and wishes them all the best for the future.
