Joe Millar Awarded Troon's Citizen of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament applauds Joe Millar for being awarded the title of Troon’s Citizen of the Year by Troon Community Council; understands that Joe was given this award in recognition of his work at Troon’s Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station; recognises that Joe has worked at the station for more than three decades, and will retire later in 2023; notes that Joe led the team of volunteers at the station; commends Joe for saving hundreds of people who have got into difficulty off the coast during his time in his role; understands that the role is a massive commitment that involves being on call day and night; thanks the RNLI for what it considers to be the important, life-saving work that it carries out in Troon and across Scotland; congratulates Joe on his achievement, and wishes him the very best for the future.
