Marking Kinship Care Week as West Dunbartonshire Kinship Care Moves to New Base

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates West Dunbartonshire Kinship Care on moving into its new centre in Clydebank Business Park; thanks West Dunbartonshire Council for awarding the group a grant of £5,000 to help fund the move, and to support its ongoing activities; understands that the charity works with almost 100 families in the West Dunbartonshire area, providing stability for children and support for their carers; considers that the new base will help kinship carers, who are struggling with isolation and the cost of living crisis, to visit a warm, inviting space and seek peer support; understands that the group plans to establish a homework club for children and a meditation class, on top of its existing walking football team; thanks West Dunbartonshire Kinship Care for working across the community throughout the last 12 years, helping to provide emotional and practical support to kinship carers, and recognises what it sees as the vital role that kinship carers provide during Kinship Care Week 2023, which runs from 13 to 17 March, and all year round.
