South Ayrshire Farmer Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates farmer, Hugh Kennedy, of West Carngillan Farm, on being awarded the prestigious John Dennison Lifetime Achievement Award; notes that Hugh was presented with the award on 11 March 2023 at the UK Borderway Dairy Expo held in Carlisle; understands that the accolade was established in memory of renowned dairy farmer, John Dennison, in 2013; further understands that Hugh is a renowned farmer among the dairy industry, a passionate ambassador of the Holstein cattle breed, and has become a known leading breeder of Holsteins since he began farming 54 years ago; acknowledges that Hugh’s leading dairy and breeding operation of his Stair and Stairend herds has seen his bloodlines win prizes and plaudits across the UK, Europe and United States of America; commends him for his remarkable and outstanding contribution to the industry, and wishes Hugh well in his future endeavours.
