The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that Ocean Youth Trust Scotland (OYTS) in Greenock is to receive £475,000 from the latest round of the Cashback for Communities Programme; understands that over the next three years, OYTS will use this funding to deliver its On Board with Cashback project to a minimum of 248 young people from all over Scotland, giving each young person the opportunity to participate in a structured programme encompassing 32 hours of group work sessions, eight hours of outdoor education sessions and a five-day voyage; further understands that the goal of OYTS’s On Board with Cashback project is to change the attitudes and behaviours of those most at risk of anti-social behaviours, of those engaged in the criminal justice system and of those impacted by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and that through both off-shore and on-shore activities, it hopes to empower young people with the skills, self-confidence and resilience required to change their course in life; applauds OYTS for its work with young people, and wishes it all the best as it embarks on this next phase of the On Board with Cashback project.
