Larbert High School Teacher Plays as Lone Piper at Six Nations Game

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Miss Buchanan, a teacher at Larbert High School, Stenhousemuir, for her role as the Lone Piper at BT Murrayfield in Edinburgh on 18 March 2023; understands that Miss Buchanan is a teacher of Art, Design and Photography in the Expressive Arts faculty of Larbert High School; notes that she is also an illustrator, freelance artist and muralist outside of her teaching career; considers the importance of the role of Lone Piper, in this instance beginning the final Six Nations rugby game for Scotland of the 2023 tournament; appreciates what it sees as the increase in team morale, and support from the fans for the Scotland team, that is generated by the Lone Piper playing Flower of Scotland to around 67,144 supporters of rugby at each game held within BT Murrayfield; congratulates Miss Buchanan once more on her role as the Lone Piper at the final Scotland game of the Six Nations tournament, and wishes her every success in the future.
