Forth Valley Royal Hospital’s Dr Holmes Deployed to Turkey to Help Pregnant Women Following Earthquake

The motion

That the Parliament recognises Dr Paul Holmes, an obstetrician who usually works within Forth Valley Royal Hospital, for his work helping victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria; understands that Dr Holmes was deployed to Türkoglu, in southern Turkey, as part of the UK Emergency Medical Team, where he was based in a field hospital for a three-week post from 11 February 2023; commends Dr Holmes for the care that he provided to soon-to-be mothers who survived the earthquake and were pulled from the rubble, offering reassurances and much-needed care after such a traumatic experience; congratulates Dr Holmes on what it sees as his important work within a region experiencing what it considers to be such mass devastation and loss, and wishes him all the best for the future.
