Falkirk Council Community Choices Funding Winners 2022-23 Announced

That the Parliament congratulates all those groups in Falkirk that secured funding through Falkirk Council’s Community Choices Fund for community-led and focused projects; understands that the Community Choices Fund is Falkirk Council’s participatory budgeting programme, that provides a democratic method via a public vote for local residents to have a direct say in how public money is spent to address their priorities; notes that this is the third phase of this fund, which delivers funding through two pathways, either the Place Based Capital Programme for larger projects valued over £5,000 or the Small Grants Fund for small scale projects under £5,000; recognises that in Bo’ness, the Newtown Park Association received £44,671, Bo’ness Children’s Fair Festival received £14,042 and Bo’ness Car 4U received £5,000; notes that in Grangemouth, the Bowhouse Community Association received £31,610, the 15th Grangemouth Scout Group received £21,000 and Friends of Zetland Park received £4,500; understands that in Carse, Kinnaird and Tryst ward, Stenhousemuir Football Club received £140,000, Dobbie Hall Trust received £75,200, KLSB received £28,600 and Kinnaird Village and The Inches Residents Association received £5,000; recognises that within the Lower Braes ward, Polmont Community Council received a small grant of £2,400; notes that within the Upper Braes ward, Bailliefields Community Hub received £22,500, Maddiston Evangelical Church received £1,333 and Braes Community Sport Hub received £5,000; congratulates all groups on successfully securing funding via the Community Choices Fund to further benefit their local communities, and looks forward to seeing the development of the projects as a result of this funding.
