Bo’ness Children’s Fair Festival Inspired Design Secures Position in Final for Kinneil Primary School Pupils

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates pupils from Kinneil Primary and Early Years School in Bo’ness, on becoming finalists in a national competition; understands that students from Kinneil entered the eighth Pocket Garden Design Competition, which is organised by Keep Scotland Beautiful; notes that primary and secondary pupils from across the country were invited to conceptualise a bright and sustainable garden design based around three themes, a garden of celebration, one planet picnic and wildlife gardening; recognises that the pupils from Kinneil took inspiration from the annual Bo’ness Children’s Fair Festival for their competition entry; understands that the Bo’ness Fair, in its current format, has been a highlight within the community since it began in 1897; further understands that the competition attracted just under 200 entrants, with 42 designs being selected that will now go on to be developed as projects within schools, forming an interactive online showcase for all final designs; congratulates all the pupils and staff involved from Kinneil Primary and Early Years School on being selected as a finalist in the Pocket Garden Design Competition, and wishes them all the best with the final stage of their project.
