Musselburgh's First Step Community Project Receives £100,000 in Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates First Step Community Project, which is located in Musselburgh, on receiving a £100,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that First Step will use this funding to deliver a family support service in Musselburgh and the surrounding areas, supporting parents and young families through outreach, counselling and volunteering; commends what it sees as the vital work that First Step undertakes to help provide the best start in life for local families with young children facing challenging circumstances such as domestic violence, substance misuse and mental health issues by encouraging parents and children to make positive life choices; thanks all the First Step staff and volunteers for the hard work, and wishes them the best going forward with this project.
