Ayrshire Start-up Project Becomes Award-winning Business for Troon’s Andy and Campbell
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Troon’s Andy Bogle and Campbell Mathieson on the success of their lockdown project, which, it understands, is now a growing business that has gone on to win awards after picking up Golf Retailer of the Year at the Prestige Awards 2022; notes that the prestige awards recognise small and medium-sized businesses that have proven to be the best in their industry over the past year; understands that their journey began as the pair started golfing together during the COVID-19 lockdown, after their university courses came to a standstill, that they started to clean around 5,000 golf balls belonging to Andy’s grandad to be re-used, and that, from there, Ayrshire Golf Balls was created; further understands that the business grew considerably, which allowed the pair to employ a full-time staff member locally, Michael Miller, who became the business manager; notes that, alongside selling recycled golf balls, the team uses recycled packaging to minimise waste and have since rebranded the company to ReUse Golf Balls, as they continue to work towards a more sustainable future, and wishes Michael, Andy and Campbell continued success and the best for their future endeavours.
