Workers' Experience of Long Covid Report by the TUC and Long Covid Support
The motion
That the Scottish Parliament recognises the report, Workers' experience of Long Covid, by the Trade Unions Congress (TUC) and Long Covid Support; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of this study in understanding the circumstances of workers living with long COVID and their employers, as well as the impact that long COVID has on the job market and working conditions in general; notes that, according to the report, one in seven respondents have lost their job because of reasons connected to long COVID, and two thirds of respondents said that they had experienced one or more types of unfair treatment at work; understands that the many problems faced by people living with long COVID range from being unable to work, to having their condition questioned or experiencing bullying; believes that further discussion of long COVID being recognised as a disability is essential, and thanks the TUC and Long Covid Support for their hard work to document the experiences of people living with long COVID.
