Congratulations to Eilish McColgan on Berlin Half Marathon Win

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates double Olympian, Eilish McColgan, on winning the Generali Berlin half marathon, with a winning time of 65:43, setting a new British record and shaving 43 seconds off her own previous personal best for the distance; congratulates all those who competed in the half marathon, including British runners, Samantha Harrison and Calli Thackery, who came fourth and sixth respectively in the race and posted personal bests; notes that Eilish’s win in Berlin follows her earlier success in San Juan Capistrano, California, in March 2023, where she set a new British 10,000m record during Sound Running’s The Ten event, beating Paula Radcliffe's time of 30:01:09, which she set in Munich in 2002; understands that Eilish, who is a member of Dundee’s Hawkhill Harriers Club, now holds British records for 5,000m and 10,000m on the track, plus 5km, 10km and the half-marathon in road races; further understands that Eilish is preparing for the London Marathon on 23 April 2023, and wishes her every success for her forthcoming training and for race day.
