Grangemouth Teen Wins Young First Aid Hero Award 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Shannon Laurentson, from Grangemouth, on being named Young First Aid Hero 2023 at the Scottish First Aid Awards; recognises that Shannon received the award for her lifesaving CPR skills on a woman who had collapsed in Glasgow City centre; understands that Shannon learned her CPR skills via online courses, and utilised these skills to restart the woman’s breathing until emergency services arrived; notes what it sees as the example that Shannon sets, which highlights the difference that can be made by being equipped with CPR skills; again congratulates Shannon on winning the Young First Aid Hero 2023 Award, and wishes her all the best for the future.
