Congratulating Scotland - Football For All

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Scotland men's football team for its historic 2-0 win against Spain in the UEFA Euro Group A qualifiers; notes that the game was again absent from terrestrial television channels; believes that, to inspire younger generations, they must be able to see teams in action; understands that, for many, acquiring subscriptions or attending national games is often a considerable expense for families, in particular with ongoing cost of living challenges; further understands that Scotland remains one of the few nations across Europe which is unable to watch the national team on free-to-air television, and calls for support for decision makers to get round the table to ensure that all football fans are able to watch both the men's and women’s national teams without having to pay a subscription.
