Fifth Council Supports Ban of Single-use Vapes

The motion

That the Parliament commends the five councils, Dundee, Glasgow, Falkirk, Renfrewshire and North Ayrshire for passing motions regarding the banning of disposable vapes; understands that the motions are calling for the ban of single-use vapes on the basis of health and environmental reasons; considers that this environmental issue is becoming a scourge on Scotland’s landscapes, from city streets to beach sides; notes the reported concerns that the number of underage users is increasing considerably, and believes that disposable vapes generate a significant amount of toxic, single-use plastic and lithium waste.
