Inspirational Teacher Named West Dunbartonshire Council’s Employee of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Gill Timney, a physical education teacher at the Vale of Leven Academy in Alexandria, on being named West Dunbartonshire Council’s employee of the year; recognises that she set up a Sports Council within the secondary school, offering extra-curricular activities for pupils led by their peers; understands that the model has been a huge success, with almost 200 pupils participating in the sessions put on via the Sports Council each week, and notes that Gill was presented with her award at the Council’s annual employee recognition event, which celebrated colleagues from across the local authority who go the extra mile to support the residents of West Dunbartonshire.
