Tricia Marwick Steps Down as Chair of NHS Fife Board
The motion
That the Parliament pays tribute to Tricia Marwick after stepping down as chair of the NHS Fife board; notes that the former MSP and Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament oversaw her last board meeting at the end of March 2023 after six years in the role; understands that Tricia was instrumental in the development and advancement of NHS Fife’s governance processes, assuring the appropriate balance between holding the executive to account and offering support and advice; commends her leadership by steering NHS Fife through the COVID-19 pandemic by successfully implementing a robust COVID-19 vaccination programme, and introducing a range of initiatives to support staff health and wellbeing during such a difficult time; notes that, under her leadership, the newly built National Treatment Centre for Orthopaedics Unit at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy was completed, providing state-of-the-art facilities for NHS Fife to become the first region in Scotland to carry out hip and knee replacements as day-cases not requiring overnight stays; thanks Tricia for her hard work and dedication to her role, and wishes her all the best for the future.
