Union Chain Bridge Reopens after Restoration.

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the reopening of the Union Chain Bridge after a major restoration project; commends the hard work of the Friends of the Union Bridge for their dedication in getting the historic monument restored just after the bridge’s 200th birthday; understands that the Union Chain Bridge still holds the world record as the world’s oldest suspension bridge still carrying vehicles; thanks all builders and restorers who have dedicated the past two and a half years to putting new life into the historic monument, and believes that the reopening of the Union Chain Bridge underlines the ability to achieve more in union with those who are closest neighbours than without them.
