Congratulates Estelle Nicol Fundraising Efforts

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Auchterarder resident, Estelle Nicol, for raising more than £37,000, the vast majority of which is to be donated to the terminal illness charity, Marie Curie; notes that Estelle has raised funds through charity walks, including along the Great Wall of China, trekking in the Jordanian desert, Tanzania, Madagascar, Costa Rica, Cuba, the Lower Himalayas, the Sahara Desert, the Camino Frances Route and to Everest Base Camp; understands that her most recent trip has been to Kenya, where she worked with the Memusi Foundation to help boost education primarily in Magadi, Kajiado County; understands that Estelle also organises local events, including bake sales, quizzes and raffles, to give something back to the local community, driven by her belief that “the best way to go about it is organising something where people have a good time while also raising funds”; commends Estelle for her extraordinary efforts and achievements; thanks her for the meaningful fundraising contributions and activities that she has already undertaken, and wishes her every success in her future projects.
