Dumfries and Galloway Mental Health and Wellbeing Funding

That the Parliament thanks Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway for providing £445,026 of mental health and wellbeing funding to 33 community organisations the length and breadth of Dumfries and Galloway; understands that this tranche of funding, made available from the Scottish Government and granted by an independent panel, aims to help tackle issues on the path to recovery from COVID-19, such as suicide prevention, social isolation, and loneliness, and is particularly aimed at organisations supporting small, grassroots, community groups; understands that, amongst the successful applicants are Wigtownshire Women and Cancer, which was awarded funding to expand their reach, South West Scotland RnR for HGV training for former armed forces personnel, Wigtown Bay Coastal Rowing Club for growing their space, Mossburn Community Farm for its older person project, LGBT Youth Scotland to support young people aged 16 to 25 in Dumfries and Galloway, Kate’s Kitchen in Annan for its body and mind serenity project, the Stranraer Water Sports Association for the "Let’s Get Wet" project and the Glenkens and Community Arts Trust for "Together in Glenkens"; notes that a number of smaller grants were awarded to groups like the Rhins Men’s Shed, the Dumfries and Galloway ME and Fibromyalgia Network and the Dumfries Get Together; recognises what it sees as the vital importance of the impact of all of the organisations that received funding to the mental health and wellbeing of people across Dumfries and Galloway; notes that a full list of those in receipt of funding can be found on Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway's website, and wishes all organisations, and Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway, every success for the future.
