1st High Blantyre Brownies Celebrates 100th Anniversary

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the current and former members of 1st High Blantyre Brownies on the unit’s centenary year; understands that, as part of their 100th anniversary celebrations, brownies and their volunteer leaders have invited past members to join in a service of thanksgiving at Blantyre Old Parish Church on the evening of 27 April 2023, to share their memories and stories; believes that, through Girlguiding, girls and young women have the opportunity to make friends, develop important life skills, and reach their full potential as confident, independent individuals; recognises what it sees as the role of Girlguiding Scotland, as the country’s largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women, in inspiring and empowering girls across communities in Scotland; celebrates the generations of girls and young women who have positively contributed to the Blantyre community through the 1st High Blantyre Brownies since it was established in April 1923, and wishes everyone involved with the group all the best for the future.
