Priestfield Boxing Club’s Brandon Grant Wins Scottish Flyweight Title at Elite Championships
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Brandon Grant of Priestfield Boxing Club in Blantyre on winning the title of Scottish Elite Golden Gloves Flyweight Champion; commends both Brandon and his opponent, Jaymie Swan, for their efforts in reaching the championship final; understands that the Elite Championship Finals took place in Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, where Brandon beat his opponent in every round, including a standing eight count in the final round, and won by unanimous decision; acknowledges the earlier boxing successes of the young Rutherglen man, which include being selected for the Boxing Scotland Next Generation team in 2021 and being invited to train and compete in a tournament in Krasnodar, Russia, and wishes the Scottish Flyweight Champion continued success.
