Athletes Run Round the Houses in Grangemouth 10K Race

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates all the runners who took part in the Round theHouses 10K race in Grangemouth on 16 April 2023; recognises the efforts of theFalkirk Victoria Harriers club, which organised this event in collaborationwith Falkirk Council; notes that the Round the Houses race was first held in1967 and has continued annually since; understands that Provost Robert Bissetlaunched the race, in which over 600 runners participated by competing on 500metres of indoor track, before setting out from Grangemouth Stadium; recognisesthat, following the passing of a notable member of the Falkirk VictoriaHarriers, Mr Jim Dingwall, in 2005, the race and winner’s trophy were renamedin his honour for his contributions to the club and the sport; congratulatesall those who organised and took part in the Round the Houses 10K Jim DingwallMemorial Road Race, particularly the winner of the trophy, Mr Daniel Bradford,who completed the course in 31 minutes and three seconds, and wishes all thoseinvolved the best for the future.
