The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Braehead Primary School on being commended with a national award for its inspiring, cross-generational work with residents at Crosslet Care Home; understands that the West Dunbartonshire Council-run home has developed a strong connection between the elderly residents and the local primary school; commends the school for earning this national award for evaluating impact on intergenerational learning, which was acquired as part of the Generations Working Together (GWT) Conference at Strathclyde University; understands that New York Professor, Matt Kaplin, and delegates from across the world were inspired by their work; further understands that this project initially commenced as a pen-pal scheme, which was thoroughly enjoyed by both pupils and residents, and that it later developed into the children visiting the care home fortnightly; understands that the initiative brought joy and a wide array of benefits to the residents and the children, and applauds all at Braehead Primary, and those at Crosslet House, for this well-deserved award.
