Glasgow Back Health Day 2023
The motion
That the Parliament commends the work of Versus Arthritis, the Glasgow Convention Bureau and Britspine 2023 in focusing on back health in their Back Health Day, which was held in Glasgow on 20 April 2023; understands that musculoskeletal disorders are one of the leading causes of disease and injury in Scotland; believes that there is a need to improve information and support for people experiencing back pain, especially for people in the workforce, where, it understands, that low back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders are among the leading causes of work disability, sickness absence and early exit from paid employment, and welcomes the opportunity of the Back Health Day to raise awareness of this important health issue.
