Bonhill Veterans Bowling Club Celebrates 100 Year Anniversary of the Original Green

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Bonhill Veterans Bowling Club and its President, Donnie Ledgerwood, on marking its original green’s 100th anniversary, which was opened at the beginning of the club’s centenary season; understands that the land at Bonhill was initially used as a bowling green in 1923; further understands that the green officially opened in 1954, when the playing season began; praises the club for its welcoming environment for new members; understands that a gala day will be held in summer 2023 to celebrate the landmark, and commends the hard work of West Dunbartonshire Council to ensure that the green and clubhouse are in good condition, together with the continuous support shown by local businesses.
