Third Charity Event in Memory of Much-loved Kirkcaldy Football Scout Unveiled
The motion
That the Parliament applauds the team behind the A K A Day 2023 charity fundraiser, which is raising cash in memory of Robert Rowan, who tragically passed away, aged 28, in 2018 from an undiagnosed heart condition; understands that Robert, who was born in Kirkcaldy, went on to provide scouting services for Celtic FC and the Scottish Football Association, before becoming technical director at Brentford FC; understands that the A K A Day challenge calls on people to sign up to move 1km, 2km or 5km each day in May, raising funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), which provides screenings and raises awareness of sudden cardiac death in young people; commends the fundraising team, which has been fundraising to provide heart screenings in Robert’s name since his sudden and tragic passing, and wishes the team all the best for the future.
