Harry Cairney's Retirement as President of Scotmid Co-operative

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Harry Cairney as he retires as President of Scotmid Co-operative on 26 April 2023; notes Harry’s service to the co-operative, starting as a Director of the Prestonpans Co-operative Society in 1987, serving as a board member of Scotmid Co-operative since 1998, and becoming Vice-President in 2009, acting President in 2013 and President in 2014; further notes Harry’s service to the wider co-operative movement on a number of committees and boards; acknowledges his commitment to co-operative values and principles, especially the concern for the community; recognises his work to promote the Fair Tax Mark, and wishes Harry a long and happy retirement.
