Bruce Adamson Stepping Down as Children and Young People’s Commissioner

The motion

That the Parliament pays tribute to Bruce Adamson, who is stepping down as Childrenand Young People's Commissioner Scotland in May 2023; notes that Bruce hasserved in the role for six years, after the Parliament approved his nominationin 2017; believes that he has worked tirelessly in promoting the rights ofchildren and young people in Scotland; thanks him, in particular, for his workin reviewing law and policy and working with the Parliament to ensure that therights of children are upheld; notes that his successor, Nicola Killean, hasbeen approved by the Parliament, and will take over the role this month;congratulates Nicola on her nomination; looks forward to working with her insafeguarding the rights of children and young people, and wishes Bruce the verybest in his next steps.
