Sextuplet Lambs Delivered in Westray

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Harcus family, from Westray, on recently delivering two sets of sextuplet lambs from their ewes; understands that sextuplet lambs are very rare, and that the world record number of lambs born from one ewe is eight; notes that another one of the Harcus family's ewes had five black lambs, giving a total of seventeen lambs from just three ewes; recognises that much of the Harcus family flock has Lleyn sheep blood in them, a breed noted for being prolific; believes that the Harcus family has around 20 more ewes yet to lamb; congratulates them on their extraordinary season thus far, and looks forward to further news from Westray this lambing season and those in years to come.
