Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Leaders Appointed as Honorary Professors

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Ross McGuffie, chief officer of North Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership, and Soumen Sengupta, chief officer of South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership, on their appointments as honorary professors at Glasgow Caledonian University; understands that both appointments represent the ongoing working partnership between Glasgow Caledonian University and NHS Lanarkshire, which aims to address health inequalities across the NHS board area; acknowledges the contributions of both new professors to NHS Lanarkshire, and also to the health and social care field nationally, with Professor Sengupta leading the Health and Social Care Partnership in South Lanarkshire and Professor McGuffie most recently taking charge of the North Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership; further acknowledges the vast experience, expertise and knowledge Professors McGuffie and Sengupta will bring to staff and students alike at Glasgow Caledonian University, and wishes them both well for the future.
