Neighbours by Chance, Friends Forever
The motion
That the Parliament commends Joanne Weir, who, it believes, gave her neighbour, Eileen Broadfoot, the gift of life; understands that Joanne donated a kidney to Eileen after her health began to decline; believes that kidney disease is common in Scotland, with around 3.2% of the population living with chronic kidney disease; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of living donation for people in need of a kidney transplant; thanks the many individuals and organisations that raise awareness of this condition each year, and wishes Eileen and Joanne a speedy recovery.
