HCPC Announces 20% Increase in Annual Registration Fee
The motion
That the Parliament is concerned by the Health and Care Professions Council’s proposed 20% increase of annual registration fees from £98.12 to £117.74; understands that 88% of consultation respondents were strongly against the fee increase; believes that this rise would undoubtedly worsen financial pressures on the workforce of occupational therapists during the cost of living crisis; acknowledges what it sees as the vital role that occupational therapists and other allied health professionals play in the NHS, and calls on the Scottish Government to meet with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists as a matter of urgency to discuss how it can support the workforce.
