North Lanarkshire Man Raises Over £100,000 for Beatson Cancer Centre

The motion

That the Parliament praises North Lanarkshire resident, Paul Sheerin, on his remarkable fundraising for the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre; understands that Paul has raised over £100,000 in the last decade for the centre; notes that Paul was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2013 and credits the Beatson centre for saving his life; praises the entrepreneurial ways in which Paul fundraises, which include taking part in online challenges, sports nights, hill climbs, coffee mornings, bag packing, and numerous Kiltwalks; understands that the most recent estimate for funds raised through Paul’s efforts stands at £117,098.12; believes that Paul is a credit to his family, community, and nation; commends what it sees as the incredible difference that Paul has made to those who avail of services at the Beatson, and wishes him continued fundraising success and good health into the future.
