Helen’s Hearts Memorial Initiative at NHS Forth Valley Royal Hospital

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the initiative, Helen’s Hearts, which has been implemented at Forth Valley Royal Hospital; understands that the initiative was funded through a donation from the family of the late Helen Burness, from Stenhousemuir, who sadly passed away recently; notes that, following Helen’s passing, the family received knitted hearts as a comfort keepsake; understands that, in recognition of the vital support that the family received from the palliative care team, they utilised the funds raised from the funeral collection to support the palliative care team and those requiring its care; notes that these funds have been used to resupply more knitted and crochet hearts, in addition to other items, to provide comfort to patients and families in difficult times; recognises what it sees as the generosity of Helen’s family; extends its sympathies for their loss, and thanks them for the support that they have shown to what it sees as this invaluable team within NHS Forth Valley.
