Leann McLaughlin, Urology Nurse of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Leann McLaughlin, a nurse at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, on her success at the British Journal of Nursing (BJN) Awards in London, where she received the bronze award in the Urology Nurse of the Year category; understands that the BJN Awards recognise nurses around the UK who have gone over and above their daily duties to make a significant difference to people’s lives; recognises that Leann’s award followed her participation in an 18-month leadership programme, run by Prostate Cancer UK, which led to her being elected to the British Association of Urology Nurses’ board of trustees in November 2022, to help with improvement work at a local and national level; commends Leann for her commitment to nursing and believes that this award reflects that dedication, and wishes her all the best as she continues in her new role.
