Morningside's Champion of Care

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Barry Fitzblevins on winning the Champion of Care Making a Difference Award, which was hosted by Person Centred Software; understands that Barry has been employed within the care sector for over 15 years and is currently the activities coordinator at Morningside Care Home, Newmains; further understands that Barry is instrumental to the health and wellbeing of residents, introducing many activities and experiences, including movie nights, virtual train carriage trips, silent discos and completing a garden make over with a putting green; considers that activity coordinators provide activities to reduce stress, distress and depression, which empowers residents to express themselves and creates an outlet for creativity and stimulation in adults who may or not live with cognitive decline or physical impairment; thanks Barry and the staff of Morningside Care Home for their dedication, and wishes the residents well for their future activities.
