Lori Newman is a EuroDance Champion
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates 12-year-old Lori Newman on being crowned 2023 EuroDance under-14 champion, after impressing judges with her slow dance routine; understands that Lori, from Greenock, is a rising star and hopes to follow in the footsteps of her teacher, Lauren Hair, who starred in the TV show Got to Dance, and was recently named the Greenock Telegraph Community Champion Teacher of the Year; notes that Lori, who took her first dance steps aged seven, had to dance in five heats, and was up against other fantastic dancers at the competition in Southport; believes that her commitment to training every single day in the studio, and at home, helped her beat her rivals, and wishes Lori all the best as she continues to hone her skills and compete in dance competitions as she pursues her dream.
