Therapy Pets at Beechwood

The motion

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the importance of therapy pets in social care settings; understands that Beechwood Care Home, in Wishaw, was recently visited by Therapy Ponies Scotland, providing equine therapy sessions; believes that animals can offer an extraordinary amount of emotional support across all generations who may have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD and isolation, and thanks Cathy Togneri and staff at Beechwood Care Home for providing an extensive activity programme designed to ensure the health and happiness of all residents.
