Ravenscraig Stadium Receives TrackMark Accreditation from UK Athletics

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Inverclyde’s Ravenscraig Stadium has been officially recognised as a top athletics venue, having received TrackMark accreditation from UK Athletics for being well-managed, maintained, and accessible to participants of all abilities; understands that TrackMark is a quality assurance scheme, developed in consultation with track operators, track and field athletics clubs and national sports councils; further understands that the accreditation was achieved through partnership working between Inverclyde Council and the active schools service, which is run in partnership with sportscotland, Inverclyde Leisure, Inverclyde Athletic Club and Scottish Athletics; understands that, as well as being the "go-to" venue locally for athletics, Ravenscraig Stadium is famous for having hosted the first ever officially-recognised women’s international football match between Scotland and England in 1972; notes that Ravenscraig facilities were recently upgraded, ahead of the women’s 50th anniversary match between Scotland and England under-15s sides in May 2022; applauds the efforts of all partners involved in the upkeep of Ravenscraig Stadium, and believes that it will continue to be a first-class facility for athletics and sport in Inverclyde and the west of Scotland.
