Fort Kinnaird Gives £5,000 to Local Charities

That the Parliament pays tribute to Fort Kinnaird following the generous donation of £5,000 to local charities; notes that the Thistle Foundation, The Venchie Children and Young People’s Project and Craigmillar Now will receive the cash boost; recognises that the Thistle Foundation, which was founded in 1944, supports people in Scotland living with disabilities and long-term health conditions such as Parkinson’s, ME, chronic pain, the long-term effects of COVID-19, and mental health conditions; notes that The Venchie Children and Young People’s Project supports children every week in Craigmillar with breakfast and after school clubs, holiday sessions and parent and toddler groups; further notes that Craigmillar Now is an arts and heritage space, and plans to use the funds to hold a year-round programme of artist residencies, workshops and exhibitions, and commends this kind donation that will enable each of these charities to continue supporting local people.
