Braes High School Named Finalist in the Scottish Education Awards 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates all the pupils and staff at Braes High School on the school being a named a finalist at the Scottish Education Awards 2023; recognises that the Scottish Education Awards is a partnership event, organised by the Daily Record and Education Scotland, to celebrate the hard work and success of those within Scottish education; understands that this annual event aims to recognise contributions made by those who dedicate their lives to children and young people, showcasing the valuable work and innovation taking place in classrooms; notes that Braes High School is named a finalist in the Making a Difference Award category for its Onwards and Upwards initiative, which aims to reduce the poverty-related attainment gap with a focus on removing barriers to learning and providing targeted support where required, including opportunities for family learning to encourage parents and carers to gain qualifications; congratulates Braes High School on being a named finalist in the Making a Difference Award 2023, and wishes it the best of luck for the award ceremony on 7 June.
