Kirkcaldy Café Owners Hang Up Their Aprons as They Announce Retirement
The motion
That the Parliament notes with pride and sadness in equal measure that the popular owners and operators of Cupcake Coffee Box on Kirkcaldy High Street, Simon Dugmore and Mike Lowe, have announced their retirement this month; believes that the business is much more than just a café, with the pair hosting sessions on fostering, book clubs, and a Christmas Day opening for those who want a bacon roll, a bit of company and a caring lift home; considers that Cupcake Coffee Box was a touchstone during the COVID-19 pandemic, calling customers who were isolating just to see how they were doing; understands that the couple’s son, Brandon, will be taking over the helm at the café to continue the legacy that Simon and Mike have created; commends the pair for their steadfast commitment to the Kirkcaldy community, and wishes them all the best for the future.
