The Braw Wee Shop

The motion

That the Parliament commends the pupils and staff at New College Lanarkshire, Motherwell Campus, on the success of their Braw Wee Shop; notes that the project made a £2,500 profit, which, it understands, will help to support the NCL Foundation, supporting those in their community who are struggling with the cost of living crisis; understands that the project began as a small tuck shop within a classroom in 2019 and now has plans to expand to both Coatbridge and Cumbernauld Campuses; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of empowerment, promoting transferable skills and the need to improve the real life employment rates, whilst challenging the misconceptions that it believes surround people with disabilities; thanks the staff and pupils for their contribution to the community, and wishes them all the best for the future.
