Johnstone High School Achieves LGBT Youth Scotland Gold Charter

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Johnstone High School on achieving the Gold LGBT Charter for Education; believes that hard work and dedication by the school community was instrumental in achieving this award; acknowledges that Johnstone High School is one of only 15 schools to have achieved the Gold level of the Charter, and hopes that yet more will join them; understands that the LGBT Charter for Education recognises the training and the review of policies, practice and resources, which ensure that schools go beyond simply meeting legislative requirements and are as inclusive as they can be for pupils, staff, parents and the wider community, and wishes staff, pupils and parents at Johnstone High all the best in their continuing progress in inclusive education and LGBTQ+ equality.
