Grampian Pride 2023 - "Just Be You"

That the Parliament welcomes the return of Grampian Pride in 2023, organised by the Four Pillars LGBT+ charity, in partnership with various organisations across Grampian, such as BP and Shell, which spans over six locations in the Grampian Region, namely Inverurie, Stonehaven, Aberdeen, Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Huntly; understands that Grampian Pride provides a safe space for all LGBT+ people and their straight allies to celebrate the progress that has been made in advancing LGBT+ people's rights, while continuing to raise the plight of LGBT+ people who face persecution or discrimination simply on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity; understands that the various events, including in Aberdeen City, will feature marches, speeches and guest performances, as well as information stalls, including by Police Scotland, Aberdeen City Council, Rape Crisis Scotland, Aberdeen Foyer, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Aberdeen City Fostering; understands that Grampian Pride will also support local food and drink producers through vending stands by G&M Whyte Burgers, Cheerz Bar, Skoff Catering and A-Z Delicious Donuts; congratulates Grampian Pride on securing key headlining musical performances, including from Basshunter, Gareth Gates, Kelly Wilde and Janice Robinson; joins Grampain Pride in its key "Just Be You" message, and sends a resounding message of solidarity with all LGBT+ people across the Grampian region, who are absolutely valued and loved, and who are crucial to what it sees as Scotland’s rich and diverse society.
