Celebrating Bob Fulton's 100th Birthday

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Bob Fulton, of East Kilbride, who celebrated his 100th birthday on 21 May 2023; believes that the powerful 2018 documentary, Nae Pasaran, is a highly-recommended watch to understand Bob’s tale, who, as a shop steward for almost 30 years in Rolls Royce in East Kilbride, downed tools alongside his colleagues John Keenan, Robert Somerville and Stuart Barrie in March 1974, initiating the factory-wide boycott of working on Chilean engines; understands that this resulted in the engines being held in storage until 1978, actions which are understood to have saved the lives of countless Chileans throughout Pinochet’s regime, and wishes Bob the very best of health and many more birthday celebrations in the years ahead.
