North Motherwell Parish Church, Christian Aid Fundraiser

The motion

That the Parliament commends North Motherwell Parish Church on its recent fundraising event for Christian Aid; understands that the members hosted a brunch alongside the Junior Church members, raising £320; notes that Christian Aid Week took place between 14 and 20 May 2023, raising awareness and funds to support the lives of people living in poverty; understands that Christian Aid has continued its pigeon pea project and what it sees as other vital work around the world, particularly following the impact of the recent Cyclone Freddy in Malawi, which has had devastating effects, with floods washing away crops, over 500,000 people displaced and hundreds of lives lost; praises all involved for their charitable contribution, and wishes them success for their future events
